You only need to infuse an item with Residuum once, no need to do it each loop. This is extremely useful, as you will want to keep any Gold weapons and Slabs you might discover. Any gear you infuse will not disappear whenever the loop restarts. With Colt and 2-Bit setting out across a mysterious apocalyptic world, it seems inevitable that new threats will appear to fuel more first-person gunplay. Deathloop 2 could take Colt to a new city, perhaps with its own time loop, or perhaps introduce a brand-new mechanic. In the extended ending Colt seems determined to explore this mysterious desolate world, which is an amazing set-up for future adventures once they find civilization. The strange orange sky and dried-up ocean suggest that an apocalypse has destroyed the world, with the time loop leaving the citizens of Blackreef unharmed. The original ending of Deathloop leaves Colt and the Visionaries with an uncertain fate, but the extended Goldenloop ending seems to be setting up another adventure. While many players found the original endings of Deathloop disappointing, the extended ending thankfully provides more context and may even tease a sequel. The final shot of the extended ending sees Colt and a group of Eternalists, with 2-Bit in tow, trekking across the desert bed of the now evaporated ocean. The sequence shows the eight Visionaries react to the fact that the loop has been broken, while Colt removes the robot 2-Bit from Charlie Montague's mansion.
